Udzungwa Mountains

Tourism in the Udzungwa Mountains National Park revolves around hiking and trekking, as the park has no roads and is accessible only on foot.

The hiking trails range in difficulty, from the short one-hour Sonjo trek to the 3-day Mwanihana peak and the extremely challenging 5-day camping trek on the Rumemo Trail.

The most common walk is the Sanje Waterfalls trail, which takes about 4 hours to complete. It is best to visit between the end of June and November.

Pande Game Reserve

Pande Game Reserve is part of the Eastern Arc Coastal Forest among the highest priority areas for biodiversity conservation in the world. It has also been classified as an important bird area by Birdlife International.

Its close proximity to Dar es Salaam city serves as an alternative to nature enthusiasts with minimal time to travel. Activities at Pande Game Reserve include game viewing, bird watching, camping nature trail & cycling.

Kitulo National Park

A botanist and hiker’s paradise. Good for hiking, walking, bird watching, waterfalls, and wildflowers.

The best time to visit is between December and March.

Mpanga-Kipengere Game Reserve

The land of waterfalls!

Popular for a day hike to the magnificent Kimani waterfalls, which plunge 70m into a picturesque jungle valley.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, biking, camping, and climbing.
